Our imaging system is fully digital Orthophos XG Sirona manufactured in Germany. The Digital Imaging system has the following advantages:
· Razor-sharp images available almost instantaneously
· Wide range of image analysis and processing functions
· Automatic patient-related archiving of X-ray images
· Low radiation exposure
· Optimum patient communication
· High level of data security
· Simple exchange of data with other dental professionals
· Unambiguous results
· Speed
· Precision and greater clarity
· Enhanced safety: Reduced Radiation is obviously an important issue for our team, and our patients. Compared with conventional film-based systems, Sirona digital X-ray systems significantly reduce radiation doses: by up to 30% (panoramic imaging), 60% (cephalometric imaging), and 90% (intraoral imaging). And this means greater safety for everybody at our orthodontic practice. The patient's dose during a digital panoramic X-ray is equivalent to the amount of natural environmental radiation absorbed during a 30-minute flight at an altitude of 11,000 meters (36,300 feet). Compared with conventional exposure on category "D" film, a digital intraoral X-ray requires only one tenth the amount of radiation.
· Improved patient communication
· No unnecessary waiting periods
· Avoidance of harmful waste materials
· Convincing environmental approach.
Digital X-ray systems do not depend on harmful chemicals. There is no risk of chemical spills and other mishaps.
